LifeSkills Training Program Information

There are a number of informational resources that provide detailed information about the Botvin LifeSkills Training (LST) programs, which can be helpful when informing administrators, teachers, counselors, and parents about the programs.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

      • LST Program Fact Sheet: General information about the LifeSkills Training Middle School program in a brief fact sheet.
      • Overview Flyer: One-page infographic detailing the components of LST Middle School.
      • Program Placement Examples: Sample implementation plans for the LST Middle School program.
      • Scope and Sequence: Document listing the goals as well as the skills taught for each lesson in the middle school curriculum.
      • Sample Lesson: Sample lesson from the teacher’s manual and student guide of the middle school curriculum.
      • LST Curriculum Alignment Tools, including Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies: Tools that help align the program’s objectives to a universal standard, which can aid sites in aligning the program to specific state educational standards.
        LST and SEL – Detailed: Detailed alignment between LifeSkills Training Middle School program and CASEL’s Social and Emotional Learning competencies.
        LST and SEL – Brief: One-page illustration of LifeSkills Training Middle School lesson alignment with CASEL’s Social and Emotional Learning competencies.
      • Objectives and Educational Outcomes Fact Sheet: Fact sheet explaining how the objectives and components comprising the LST program have been linked through other research to positive educational outcomes.
      • Evaluation Studies: Developed by Dr. Gilbert J. Botvin, a leading prevention expert, Botvin LifeSkills Training is backed by over 30 scientific studies and is recognized as a Model or Exemplary program by an array of government agencies including the U.S. Department of Education and the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention.
