CSPV’s Mari Jenae Riley Featured in CBS Story on FBI-Reported Drop in Violent Crime and Auto Thefts

Mari Jenae Riley, a leader at CU Boulder’s Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence, directs The Power of One, a youth-driven campaign serving Denver’s Park Hill and Montbello neighborhoods. She attributes the recent FBI-reported declines in violent crime and auto theft to sustained community engagement and giving young people meaningful opportunities. Riley also warned that upcoming federal funding cuts could threaten this progress, potentially dismantling programs that have played a key role in Denver’s safety gains. See the CBS story here.
