We Use
What Works
We work in partnership with those who seek to use the very best of what we know works from prevention science to create a world where individuals, families, schools, and communities flourish.
We work in partnership with those who seek to use the very best of what we know works from prevention science to create a world where individuals, families, schools, and communities flourish.
We partner with communities, schools, or agencies to create and sustain high-quality systems and structures to effectively prevent violence and promote positive youth development. We support effective implementation of evidence-based programs, practices, and policies.
We study and implement the best programs, practices, and policies to create safe and supportive environments free from the harms of violence. We also examine why some organizations and communities can effectively implement these solutions, while others are less successful.
Blueprints for Healthy Youth Development, a project housed within the Institute of Behavioral Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, provides a comprehensive, trusted registry of evidence-based interventions that are effective in preventing or reducing the likelihood of antisocial behavior and promoting a healthy course of youth development and adult maturity. Blueprints promotes only those interventions with the strongest scientific support. The Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence works alongside partners to implement with fidelity evidence-based interventions (programs, practices, and policies) listed on the Blueprints website.
We collaborate with communities, schools, law enforcement, health and human service systems, and policymakers to bridge the gap between research and practice by providing individualized and culturally-responsive services.
