Bio

Monica is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Behavioral Science. She is faculty of CVSP and Director of the Center for Resilience & Well-Being in Schools, a center of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. She is Principal Investigator on federal, state, and local grants and values community-academic partnerships. Her work focuses on developing and evaluating prevention and intervention programs that build safe, supportive environments and strong adult-youth relationships in schools and families (e.g., programs RISE: Resilience in Schools & Educators and Let’s Connect). Her work also focuses on the dissemination of evidence, based trauma focused treatments for youth and families. Her expertise is in the areas of childhood trauma stress, resilience, social emotional development, mental health and well-being in youth and adults, adult-youth relationships, and intervention development.
